Blackwatch Farm
The layout of this busy farmhouse kitchen had a lot of demands on our designer. With practicality at the top of the remit list, it was fast followed by thoughtful layout, good design and streamlined beauty, all in equal measures.
The design starting point was the much-treasured old Aga, a family heirloom set to stay in its original position, with the new kitchen layout flowing naturally around and away from this important feature. The remit being twofold, firstly to create a user friendly and practical working area and secondly an unobtrusive relaxing social space. The generous sized island providing copious storage, ample prep area and a comfy place to perch and chat. We love the flagstone floor with all its cracks and crevices, it offsets the clean lines and simplicity of our cabinetry perfectly.
Style Board: The kitchen cabinets are painted in Little Greene’s Tracery with the worktops in Indian Pearl granite. The Island is painted in Little Greene’s Dock Blue and the worktop is a granite called Ivory Fantasy. The dresser is also painted in Tracery with the internal contrasting in Mortlake yellow
