Phil Harrison - Director & Lead Designer
With a deep-rooted history of cabinet making running through his veins, it was predetermined that Phil should continue this long held tradition. His early days were spent on the family farm in East Sussex. This is where he learned his craft, working closely alongside his siblings, all of them designing and making furniture to sell at local fairs and shows. Much later, in new pastures, he set up his own business and workshops in Herefordshire, where he began to specialise in kitchen cabinetry.
Phil has always believed that the roots of his craft and skills are inherited from past centuries of English cabinet making, ‘We need to understand and evolve these old techniques and practices as they are still very relevant today’. This inherent knowledge of furniture design and construction is fundamental when it comes to working alongside the customer, realising their plans and ideas. ‘Every kitchen is a puzzle waiting to be solved and I will always love this challenge’.
At the weekends, he spends his spare time with his family at their smallholding near Weobley.
Louise Pope - Creative Director
Louise’s background is in entrenched in the Arts, as both parents and siblings were practicing artists. Originally from Kent, Louise went on to complete a degree in Art and Design in Brighton. Shortly after, she took off to the hills in deepest Mid-Wales, working for the RSPB as a wildlife illustrator. Finding she needed a workshop to continue her passion for wood carving, she teamed up with Phil and together they began to make furniture in an old disused, converted Welsh chapel.
Now in Herefordshire, she is at the forefront of the business involved with graphic design, creative marketing and generally dealing with customers. She believes that ‘the kitchen is a culinary workshop, where everything must flow, be at hand and easy to use... there is much to be said about the ‘working triangle’ with ample storage, good layout and well-made cabinetry at the heart of every Harrison & Pope kitchen’.
In her spare time, she enjoys working in her studio, bee keeping, walking and cooking.

Steve - Production Manager & Cabinet Maker
Steve joined us 5 years ago, and with 13 years of woodworking experience already firmly under his belt, he has proved a key member of the team. His love of all things wood started when he was just a child, where the making of camping stove boxes with his dad was to sew an integral seed for his future career. Today he has a firm grip on the workshops and with a meticulous attention to detail, he ensures everything runs smoothly.
He loves his job and takes a great deal of pride in being able to make a customers dream kitchen, knowing that they will have a beautiful hand made kitchen, built to last a life time.
Living in Hereford, Steve enjoys playing badminton and cooking.
Tom - Workshop Manager & Cabinet Maker
Joining the team in 2015, Tom was no stranger to cabinet making. Already, with 15 years of experience in the industry he had high credentials. His practical skills shone very early on in life; with the gift of a hammer from his Godfather on his 5th birthday, he set out helping with building his parents’ house extension. Much later on in life he enrolled to study Furniture and Cabinet Making at Hereford College of Technology. He is now a superb cabinet maker and with a keen eye on every process running through the workshops, he takes great pride in his work.
Tom really enjoys his job, saying: ‘I feel very lucky being a member of such a dedicated and strong team’.
He lives close by and in his spare time he loves cooking and playing football with his children most weekends.
Jon - Assistant Machinist
Having joined us recently, Jon is already showing us how well he can turn his hands to any task around our workshops. When he was small, he would spend hours in his dad’s workshop making toy swords and bows as well as lending a hand to restoring antiques. That’s where he found his love of woodwork and has devoted his life to a career in cabinet making. Now, with over 20 years up his sleeve, he is a perfect addition to our team.
Jon loves creating a space where people will enjoy spending their time and making memories. He firmly believes that “the kitchen is the heart of the home” and should therefore be the hub for all social gatherings – from lively parties to intimate dinners.
When not at work, Jon likes to mountain bike and spend time outdoors, but when the weather forbids it, he likes to stay home and learn new songs on his guitar.

Harry - Assistant Painter & Finisher
Harry is one of our newest recruits, he works alongside Matt in the paint shop. Having worked as a painter decorator before, he is very used to wielding a brush and is now honing down his skills to hand painting H&P cabinetry.
With a keen vision of the end product in mind Harry particularly likes the satisfaction of crafting a kitchen from it’s raw materials. It’s this vision that helps him in our paint shop, accurately and precisely bringing our cabinetry to life with colour and finesse, helping to create part of the heart of the home.
In his spare time Harry enjoys golfing and is a big Arsenal supporter. He also loves travelling and exploring new countries with his partner.
~ Fitting Team ~
Ant - Kitchen Fitter
With 14 years of experience in all aspects of the building trade Ant has become an invaluable member of the fitting team. The many formative years spent working on barn conversions, oak frame restorations and project managing house renovations have given him a broad set of skills. Not only does he have a great rapport with the customers, but he is a perfectionist when it comes to fitting a kitchen. He finds his job very rewarding and the part he loves most is the transformation from before and after the kitchen is installed.
Earlier on in life, after gaining A* for woodwork he went on to achieve further associated qualifications at college. Today, when not at work, you will probably find him restoring his own house in Shobdon.
Pete - Kitchen Fitter
Pete joined H&P in 2018 and thankfully for us he came with bags of practical experience and great enthusiasm for his work. Prior to joining us he spent 6 years in the roofing business which of course involved many useful and transferable joinery skills.
He has progressed very quickly and become a confident and accomplished kitchen fitter. He is patient and works with great care to ensure that the customer is happy with every aspect of the fitting process.
Alongside his practical skills he has qualifications in design and technology. In his spare time he enjoys building computers, designing and renovating his own house.
