Cheltenham Crescent

An exciting modern extension juxtaposed on the side of a historic and important period townhouse became the home to one of our recent projects. This kitchen was installed just before the national lock down and so it was a haven to enjoy during this very isolating time.

Slide back the large plate glass doors and the outside seamlessly becomes the inside with a wonderful sense of harmonious interaction, illustrated partly by the clever pairing of colours between the island and the door frames. Imagine the summer parties or even watching the snow fall in the winter… glorious!

Our customer wanted to keep the kitchen on a minimalist level with clean lines and cool neutral colours offering a sense of tranquility and a timeless style. The layout was simple, spacious, and so full of light, with practical functionality at the core of the remit. To emphasise this, we chose handle less wall cabinets, opening with a light touch (see image 4) accented with instant lights to illuminate the contents; we love a bit of drama and magic!

The cool blue island is a workhorse, with an induction hob, a discreet downdraft extractor, prep area plus seating. Not forgetting the pan drawers…so much in one cabinet.

Style Board: The main cabinets are painted in a soft grey colour called Tarlatan from The Paint Library. The Island is painted in Acqua Viva also from The Paint Library. The clean white worktops are made from a quartz called Cimstone Olympos.
