The Old School House
A most beautiful period house blessed with high ceilings and many interesting features. The kitchen is situated in the former main school room. With an impressive four metre high window overlooking trees and fields the outlook was to play a key role in how the layout was to develop.
Part of the remit was to create a space that would focus on this wonderful vista. This was achieved by positioning the sink central to the window and then facing the Island with its seating in the same direction. Further inspiration was taken from the customer’s colourful collection of pottery and also a much loved painting. All these elements were to play a huge influence on the colour scheme and also within specific areas of the cabinetry design.
Style Board: The main run of the cabinetry is painted in Farrow and Ball’s Purbeck Stone and the granite is Indian Black Pearl. The Island is painted in Stiffkey Blue and its granite worktop is Ivory Fantasy.
