Fig Tree Barn

Perched gracefully on the edge of a hillside and overlooking the beautiful Herefordshire countryside, this neat barn conversion offers peace, tranquillity and of course a wonderful kitchen to cook in.

The high ceilings, beams and flagstone floors take centre stage in this contemporary project, with the kitchen neatly positioned to enjoy the views and job in hand.

It’s easy to see that the island is the star of the show, with its extensive workspace, copious storage and perfectly placed perching spot. It’s a fabulous workhorse and takes the pressure off the rest of the kitchen which sits quietly in the background doing a grand job of neatly housing the hob, ovens and fridge.  And for a bit of glamour and glitter, the added touch of copper on the splashback and lights gives that extra dash of drama to the whole picture

This is a palette of many layers, with the cabinets painted in both cool light colours and deep-toned velvety ones, a perfect complement to the surrounding natural wood and stone.

This is another winning kitchen with its simple layout and design, led initially by the architecture and then complimented by the kitchen remit, it works so well both aesthetically and practically.

Style Board: The island is painted in Little Greene’s Cordoba and the other cabinets in LG’s Rubine Ashes. The worktops are a leathered textured quartz called Thunder White
